Katherine Heffner is an employment litigation attorney who represents employees and executives in discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other workplace disputes. She brings more than a decade of employment law and civil trial experience to the firm’s Employee Rights Practice Group.
Katherine previously served as a senior attorney with the Florida Commission on Human Relations, where she handled employment discrimination matters arising under the Florida Civil Rights Act. She also served in the Consumer Protection Division of the Florida Attorney General’s Office, where she investigated and pursued enforcement actions on behalf of Florida consumers against unfair and deceptive business practices. Earlier in her career, she worked for unions representing teachers and firefighters and litigated civil rights matters on behalf of individuals facing discrimination in employment and public accommodations.
Katherine’s courtroom skills were recognized early: at Stetson University College of Law — home of one of the nation’s premier trial advocacy programs — she received the Victor O. Wehle Trial Advocacy Award and served as Treasurer of the Labor and Employment Law Society.
A lifelong musician, Katherine sings and plays violin, piano, mandolin, and guitar.
